Education
I hold a BA in philosophy from Loyola University New Orleans, a JD and an LLM with distinction in transnational law from Temple University, and a PhD in philosophy from Tulane University. My dissertation titled "Rules, Rights, and the Rule of Law" defended Lon Fuller's critique of legal positivism via a defense of the thesis that the rule of law is a constitutive element of respect for human rights.
While working towards my PhD, I was an Adam Smith Fellow at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, a Thomas W Smith Fellow at George Mason’s Institute for Humane Studies, and a Graduate Fellow at Tulane's Center for Ethics and Public Affairs.
Below you can find me on a windy day in Delft, Holland, visiting Hugo Grotius, 'The Father of International Law'.
